Founder, Stellavate Marketing
Lori has been building things on the internet since before most people knew what the internet was and hasn’t stopped since.
It started in the late 1990s when her father launched a software development company during the dot-com boom and handed a curious kid access to tools most adults hadn’t touched yet, including Microsoft front page and Adobe Photoshop. By 12, Lori had taught herself HTML by picking apart source code from her favourite websites. Her first creation? A site called The Crap, a hostile tribute to the Offspring and a one-tweenager campaign against the Gap, complete with fabricated horoscopes. It wasn’t monetized. It was just fun. But it lit something up.
Lori spent years in film and television production and camera departments, learning how story, visual language, and timing shape the way people feel about a brand before a single word is read. She pivoted into real estate marketing, where she built digital systems for real estate agents and developers and discovered she had an obsession with one very specific problem: getting found on Google.
She went deep on SEO. While running her photography business she ranked on page one of Google in one of BC’s most competitive markets and industries in her first year. Fifty family sessions. Twenty weddings.
That reputation earned her white label SEO and web development contracts with agencies across the province, where she built quietly behind the scenes for brands that didn’t know her name but depended on her results.
Then AI changed everything. While a lot of agencies panicked, Lori leaned in. She repositioned her entire approach around AI search and optimized for ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Perplexity before most agencies had even heard those names. Her pages and images have ranked in Google search and Chat GPT results as the authority on topics from family photography to the best swimming holes in Nanaimo, BC.
This isn’t your grandpa’s web developer.
Stellavate was built on two decades of real, earned experience, across film sets, real estate boardrooms, photography studios, and the ever-shifting landscape of digital marketing. No cookie-cutter packages. No outsourced work. No fluff.
When she’s not in front of a screen, Lori is nerding out on improv, chasing stories around BC with her camera, and adventuring with her teenagers, who, for the record, think she’s embarrassing.
